Adrian Siska

Writer | Game developer

Adrian is one of those people who spend more time in their imagination than in the real world. From an early age, he found everyday reality a bit mundane — especially growing up in a modest household where options were limited and boredom came easily. Stories weren’t just entertainment; they were a lifeline. Imagination became the only place where things felt alive, interesting, and full of possibility. That early need for escape grew into a lifelong passion for creating entire worlds of his own.

Born and living in Slovakia — the little heart of Europe — Adrian developed a strong analytical mind alongside his creative instincts. He was always good with numbers and known for over-analyzing everything, much to the dismay of some family members and peers. As a kid who refused to tolerate nonsense, he never quite fit into typical social groups — but he embraced that outsider’s perspective.

In high school, he briefly explored programming and game development. Later, he wrote screenplays and dabbled in filmmaking. Though he studied economics and management at university, his favorite subject was psychology. “It’s amazing what you can learn about yourself and others just by understanding how the human mind works,” he says. “It’s like a beautiful puzzle.”

He spent five years as a freelance translator, during which he began writing exclusively in English. Then came a dramatic shift: four years working as an accountant in a large corporation. The job drained his creative energy, but also introduced him to great people — and gave him unexpected inspiration.

Storytelling was always simmering in the background. Eventually, he returned to writing and released his debut novel The Next Step in 2020 — a science fiction love story about Adam Moore that quietly touched hearts around the world. In 2024, he released SUPERMAGDA, an exciting children’s adventure set in the whimsical world of the Wuka Islands. The talented Tina Marie Cruz narrated an audiobook version, bringing the story with all its quirky characters to life for young listeners.

After a 15-year break from game development, Adrian returned to the field with Office Run, a small indie game that launched on Steam in 2022 to positive reviews. In 2024, he released Wonder Ball — a fast-paced 3D action platformer with low-poly graphics, inspired by the greatest classics of the genre. In a review by Sector.sk, it was described as ‘a small miracle from Slovakia’. Both games were nominated for the BiT Awards, an annual ceremony celebrating the best video games made in Slovakia.

Today, Adrian works professionally as a developer of automated solutions for finance and accounting — combining logic, creativity, and a knack for seeing hidden systems.

He continues to tell fast-paced, emotionally driven stories full of action, heart, and imagination — always experimenting across genres and mediums.
